11th Asia Pacific Conference on Giftedness
The 11th Asia Pacific Conference on Giftedness program committee is calling for abstracts.
The conference will be held from 29 July – 01 August 2010 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre .
We have chosen a central theme for the conference ‘Thinking Smart. Effective Partnerships for Talent Development’ with the following sub-themes to select from when submitting your abstract:
Advocacy & Policy
Curriculum Approaches
Dual Exceptionality
Indigenous Students
Learning Communities
Rural & Isolated Students
School-Family Partnerships
Spiritual & Emotional Development
Technology
Creativity
Abstract submission is a two step process:
STEP 1
Abstract template: download the abstract template and save it to your desktop. Use this template to present your abstract in the required format. Abstracts not submitted using this template will be returned for correction.
- Clearly state the title of the presentation
- List the name of all presenting author(s) and co-authors
- List all authors affiliations (Organisation, City, Country)
- Include your abstract – max 300 words (all abstracts should contain
sufficient data to represent the information)
- After completing the abstract template, move onto step 2
STEP 2
Online abstract submission form: to complete the online abstract submission form, you will be required to provide the following information:
- Your contact details
- The title of your abstract
- Conference stream (select from those listed above)
- Presentation type
- Name and affiliation of yourself, all co-presenters and co-authors
- Brief biographies for yourself and any co-presenters.
Each biography should be no more than 100 words
- Your completed abstract document
Presentation types
Oral Presentation: Oral presentations take place in chaired sessions. Each presentation should last for 30 minutes to include sufficient time for questions & answers.
Workshop Presentation: An interactive session with duration of approximately 90 minutes. Please include in your abstract submission the maximum number of participants that your workshop would be suitable for.
Performance: A limited number of performance slots are available. Performances will take place in the main plenary hall and should be approximately 5 minutes in duration.
Confirmation of submission
Immediately following successful submission, you will receive confirmation via email.
Notification of acceptance
Abstract acceptance and your presentation format will be communicated to the submitting authors email address by 31 March 2010.

Publication of abstracts
All abstracts accepted into the conference program will be published in the conference handbook and distibuted to delegates in electronic format.
